Looking for Instagram Places in Hong Kong

Hong Kong may be a small country, but there are numerous places to visit and see, all within one hour travel distance from each other! If you’re planning a trip to Hong Kong, I’ve got you covered, whether you’re wondering where to eat or where to sleep. But of course, it wouldn’t be a trip without getting some cute photos along the way. So, I’ve made a list of some of the places worth visiting that is worthy of taking Instagram photos.

1. Tian Tian Buddha

One of the most popular Hong Kong attractions is the Big Buddha on Lantau Island which is surrounded by the Po Lin Monastery, the slightly-touristy Ngong Ping Village and miles of hiking. I recommend it as a day or half-day outing that anyone will enjoy because Lantau Island is one place where you can actually see how beautiful Hong Kong is. You can take the cable car up to Ngong Ping Village and get a beautiful view of Tung Chung on a clear day.

1. Rainbow Apartments in Choi Hung

If you are looking for something colorful in your feed, look no further than Choi Hung apartments. “Choi Hung” means rainbow in Chinese. The rumor has it that the apartment developers wanted to brighten the moods of their tenants so they painted the apartment buildings in a rainbow gradient. The unique design of Choi Hung Estate was awarded silver by the Hong Kong Association of Architects 1965. The building has been painted eight different colours. The charming pattern can surely attracts viewers’ eyes.

3. Nian Lian Garden

An underrated place in Hong Kong is none other than Nian Lian Garden. A botanical garden and monastery that sits in the middle of a bustling city in Diamond Hill. This public park in Diamond Hill was designed and built in the ancient Tang style. Elegant wooden architecture and natural landscapes illustrate an antique Chinese classical style. There is even a delicious vegetarian restaurant built under a manmade waterfall!!

4. Hollywood Road & PMQ

Near Central and Sheung Wan, there are ample of murals and artwork to snap a ‘gram worthy photo. It’s not uncommon to stumble across street art murals spray-painted across the sides of buildings. Graham Street in Central is home to one of the most Instagrammed frescoes, a mural depicting a colourful array of buildings, but to break from the mould head to Peel Street or Hollywood Road(my favorite street). As in the area, the famous PMQ building is a popular place to hit up for local shops and festivals to satisfy your hipster side. The Police Married Quarters used to serve as a governmental building for married police officers and their families. Now, the compound is open to the public since 2014 and reused as a colorful combo of little vintage stores and craft shops. They have even more artworks inside.

5. Victoria Peak

If you ask anyone where is the one place to go in Hong Kong, most people would recommend Victoria Peak. This place has one of the most iconic views of Hong Kong from above. Go on a clear day or night, and catch the breathtaking skylines!! I recommend the best places to take photos is walk along the marked trial starting from the opposite side of the pavilion and you can the best view of Hong Kong & Kowloon.
